MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!

It's a "cool" 72F here in Dubai at 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. Honestly, this winter has been cooler and much wetter than last.

I've just finished whipping up a batch of Hungarian gulyas soup--just what everyone thinks of for Christmas dinner! Now I'm onto Christmas cookies, which I haven't made in many years. I'm borrowing my friend Jenn's cookie cutters & sprinkles (she had to "order" them from home because we haven't found them in Dubai yet).

Wish me luck so that I don't burn the Christmas trees and reindeer! Actually, my first concern is getting the right amount of butter--no "tablespoon" slashes on the packages here to help me out.

I'll have at least one guest (Ahmed) joining me for dinner this evening and maybe two more (Kirsten & Jenn) if they're brave enough to come over even though I'm coming down with a cold :-( We'll see. At the very least it will be a quiet and enjoyable evening spent with someone who's experiencing his first Christmas ever!

HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Lots of love,
Laura
