"Baby wearing" vs. Wearing baby

Baby wearing: The process in which an individual uses a sling or carrier to carry an infant in the house or community. (See photo)

Wearing baby: The process in which Steven "gets hosed" by his son twice in one day, including one when his lovely wife jumped out of the way to let the stream flow unimpeded (no pun intended) on Steven's shirt.

Returning from a walk

Steve has his hands full as he returns from a walk with his "girls" Cayenne and Marta and his son Noah. All parties seem to like going for the walk, however Noah is usually asleep by the 1/2 way point. Nice day here today in MN. Seems more like Fall than like August. Steven, the girls and Noah are enjoying as they can. Tuesday, Steven has to return to work. :-( We all cannot believe that these 2 weeks have gone by so fast. Kristin is feeling a little better. Today her fever broke for the first time in 6 days as the antibiotics seem to be working. It will be nice when she is up to full steam, but until then she needs to rest and take care of herself.

Last day for the Dinosaur Outfit

This is the last day of the dinosaur outfit newborn size up to eight pounds. (sorry Becky we know you liked it) Noah has just grown out of his first outfit as his length grows. Thank you Mom for the outfit.

Doctor Visit

Today was a very busy Day for Noah. He had his first well baby clinic visit with doctor Shakunthala (Shagu) Raja-Heal, MD http://www.allina.com/ahs/AMC.nsf/page/Elk_river_providers. She started her practice at Oberlin, Ohio. Grandma and her really hit it off and she approved of her. She stated Noah is in excellent health, weighing in at 8 pounds and 3oz. He gained back his birth weight and then some. The doctor relates to the good care and love he has been given after birth. I think it is his way of thanking grandma's Harrold and Scherger. Kristin is feeling slightly better, or at least it is easier for her to look like she is feeling better. Her temp is down to about 99-100. better than 102.5. Noah and I are amazed at her ability to keep plugging on with feeling bad and still trying to provide for Noah. Grandma Scherger continues to be a great help, Kristin and I are a bit anxious knowing she will be leaving in a few days. Grandma Harrold offered to help when I go back to work, Grandma Harrold gas up the Car! The first two weeks are going by So fast!

Busy Day for mom Kristin

It has been a very busy and difficult day for mama Kristin. She started coming down with a breast infection last night. High fever, feeling Ill, yuck. She went to the doctor and is on Meds now to treat that. She also had to go to the dentist to get check ups on some teeth that have been bothering her. Thank goodness for Grandma Scherger, she watched Noah while Dad and Mom went to the doctors. It is really nice to come home to a happy and well cared for baby. He is a bit cute. We were wondering if he has Dad's chin and Mom's eyes, who's back side does he have....You decide

I'm Cute

Bath Time

Bath time is a great time for Noah. He really enjoys his bath. Really, we are just trying to keep him awake so we can sleep later in the evening.

Guard duty

The "girls" Marta and Cayenne have been really good with Noah. After an initial shock and some significant sleep deprivation, they have settled into the groove. Cayenne likes to guard Noah from time to time in the living room when we are out of the room. Both dogs are a bit extra "barky" as they protect the house from passersby and other suspicious people. Noah just sleeps through the barks and noise as he had heard it in utero for nine months and is "used to it".

Noah First Outing?

Noah had his first outing to SR Harris fabric warehouse to get some fabric for mom's sewing projects. Noah had a great time looking at all the huge bolts of fabric and colors. Grandpa Scherger was kept busy cutting fabric to take home with him this evening as he has a business trip on Tuesday. When we got back Grandpa got to hold Noah for a bit of quick baby time.

The umbilical cord fell out!

The umbilical cord fell out 7 days after Noah was born during an uneventful diaper change. Kristin thinks his belly button now looks like a "pigs snout". Oh Well.

The Schindlers Visit

Noah was visited by Jay and Erin Schindler after they went to the game fair. Jay liked holding the baby so much he tried feeding him; under the watchful eye of Erin. Good Job Jay. Erin said she wanted to try the real baby experience, like caring for one...how about tomorrow night at 3 am?

Strolling around in the new Duds

Noah got a gift from his Great Uncle David and Aunt Susan Dobmeyer. (thanks again) He was so excited to wear it and show it off around the neighborhood. Too Bad he was asleep by the time he hit the end of the driveway.

It has been a Hard Days Night!!!

Well after a difficult night with Noah asking for food every 1-2 hours then feeding for 1-2 hours, Kristin and I got a little behind on sleep. Even the dogs are sleep deprived. So we decided to call in for immediate reinforcements.
Kristin's Mom came over right away! Thank goodness! I think she even must have broken the speed limit to get here. She helped us get some sleep and then helped take care of Noah. This allowed Kristin and I to get sleep and rest a bit. As independent minded as Kristin and I are, it make so much sense to the statement "it takes a village to raise a child". Thanks so much.
